Wilson Barrows & Salyer is the successor to a firm founded by Orville R. Wilson (1910-1996) in 1946. Orville's son, Stewart R. Wilson, joined the firm in 1967 and Orville's son-in-law, Richard G. Barrows, joined in 1973.  Rich Barrows' son-in-law, Robert M. Salyer, joined the firm in 1998 and the firm was pleased to add Shawn K. Jones in 2007.

Elko is the largest urban area and a center of commerce and government in northeastern Nevada. It serves as the county seat for Elko County which contains over eight million acres of public land. Elko County is larger than the states of Delaware, Rhode Island, Maryland, Connecticut and the District of Columbia combined. The population of Elko County is approximately 60,000.
